Accessibility
Suvartha is built so everyone in a church can use it — members who are blind or have low vision, who find a mouse or a touch screen hard, or who need less movement on screen.
On the website
- Keyboard. Every page, menu, player and form works with the keyboard alone. Focus is always visible, and the first key press offers a link straight past the menu to the content.
- Screen readers. Buttons, icons, pictures and form fields are named for screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack, and every page is laid out with headings and landmarks.
- Text and colour. Pages can be zoomed to 200% without losing anything, every design is checked for readable contrast, and nothing is told by colour alone.
- Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, animations and moving backgrounds stop.
In the app
- TalkBack and VoiceOver. Every button in the app says what it is and what it does.
- Large text. The app follows the text size you have set on your phone.
- Reduced motion. Slideshows and animations follow your phone’s reduced-motion setting.
In your language
Screen readers are told which language each page is in — including right-to-left languages such as Urdu and Hebrew — so they read it in the right voice.
The standard we hold to
We work to WCAG 2.2 level AA. Every release is checked automatically for accessibility problems, and a screen that fails does not ship.
Tell us if something is in your way
If any part of Suvartha is hard to use with the way you read, listen or move, tell us through “Talk to us” on the Suvartha home page. We treat it as a bug and fix it.
